Rose Haven (ver. 2.0)

  • Focus: Homelessness/Domestic Violence
  • Location: Portland, Oregon
  • Date Website Launched: September 2018
  • Web Address: rosehaven.org

Rose Haven serves women and children experiencing the trauma of abuse, loss of home and other disruptive life challenges. Rose Haven’s mission is to maintain a safe, respectful community while providing guests with support and services to assist them in regaining stability in their lives.

Rose Haven had grown immensely in the past couple of years, especially in the area of services, volunteering options, and the amount of guests (clients) being assisted. This they needed to better promote, but with an enhanced user experience (UX). Moreover, they needed to do this in a website that was easily adaptable, and easy to edit and create pages. The new website also had to be more “responsive” to various screen sizes since hand-held devices are often the only options for their guests.

In collaboration with the Rose Haven’s development staff, we rebranded the Home page to focus more on the diversity of their clients, the scope of their services, when and where special services and events would happen, and ways for people to help Rose Haven achieve its mission. Specialty sections were added to better showcase their services, events, and giving options; their robust volunteer community and youth outreach board; and, to introduce some of their guests to the community via client profiles.

Since this new website is built on the WordPress platform, with a robust drag-and-drop design interface, the client has far more total control over design and content management.

“I wholeheartedly recommend DOWW. Richard is a true professional with a great sense of what relevant in the web world. He is open to input, flexible and creative. He helped keep us on task and on track. We love our new site!”
