Unlike commercial websites that are product-intensive and focus on a single viewership, nonprofit websites have their own essential pages and applications to consider.
Introducing the organization to the website visitor is often the first set of pages to develop.
The About Us section generally consists of: Board, Staff, History, and Achievements pages. Programs and Services may come next, which could include: FAQ, Calendar, Profiles and Testimonials. The Giving Options is certainly a prime area to focus on, and not just with Online-Donations, but Volunteering, Corporate and Planned Giving, In-Kind Donation needs–to name just a few. And, of course, one should never hide the Contact Us and Location pages. (We’re just scratching the surface here.)
Finally, and this is a big “to-do”, your website needs to be responsive (be mobile device-friendly) and adapt nicely to the viewer’s screen size.
