The Client
Pacific Asian Counseling Services (PACS) is a provider of mental health services within Los Angeles. Their mission is to enrich the lives of children and families through counseling and caring. They provide culturally sensitive and language specific services with expertise in the immigrant and refugee Asian Pacific Islander populations.
The Task
Pacific Asian Counseling Services (PACS) had two overriding issues they needed to address: their current site was antiquated, and the design and content was no longer speaking to their viewership: they needed to broaden their outreach. Originally, their core focus was on the refugee and immigrant Asian Pacific Islander sector, but since their support had grown to include all ethnic groups, a new approach–and a new look–was vital. They also needed to be able to maintain their website easily on their own–and the site needed to be mobile device-friendly.
The Result
Using a softer–though still vibrant–color pallet, while applying several images within the header (via a slider) and sidebar, the site is now not just more pleasing to the eye, but is more welcoming and reflective of the organization’s expanded mission and demographics. The site is now easy to navigate using a tiered level of priority, with four big buttons employed to steer the visitor to site’s main areas.
This site is a content management system (CMS) built on WordPress, so the client now has far greater control over content and users. Moreover, the new site is now mobile device-friendly.
